Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, in collaboration with APS Bank, supports young people who want to further their studies abroad or through distance learning under the Youth Specialisation Studies Scheme (YSSS).
Young people between the ages of 18 and 30 may apply for support under the scheme. Financial support is conditional on no equivalent academic course covering the same academic field being available in Malta. Yearly national priorities are published to establish award criteria.
The scheme covers part of the interest rate on loans for courses or study that last for a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of five years.
Young people are financially supported through applying for a soft loan at a subsidised rate of interest. Loan amounts requested can vary from a minimum of €10000 to a maximum of €30000. The current interest rate is 4.1% but students will only pay 1%.
