What is IdejARTI-Skultura?

idejARTI – Skultura is a joint collaboration with Mikiel Anton Vassalli College – Malta School of Arts

idejARTI- Skultura is a project-based programme built to support young creatives in developing a final artwork that reflects their personal artistic language. Through a combination of tutorials, seminars, and peer critiques, young creatives will be encouraged to research, explore, experiment with materials, processes and techniques and develop a personal concept through a process-based journey that will manifest itself in creating a final artwork.

Participants in this programme will be invited to develop works focusing on the theme of TRANSITIONS.

Who is it For?

Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 residing in Malta and Gozo intent on creating 3-Dimensional art, including sculptural work, installation art and artwork that explores the architectural and spatial dimensions.

Applicants must be in possession of minimum MQF Level 4 (advanced level) qualification in Visual Arts and will be asked to sit for an interview during September 2021 to present their portfolio of works and a short description of their interest in the theme.

What will it do for me?
  • The space to experiment and create with the continuous support of a mentor.
  • A reunification of €300 will be given per participant to support the creation of the works produced along the process.
  • A certificate of participation.
  • Exhibition of the final projects at the MAVC-Malta School of Art in Valletta.
  • A catalogue of the exhibited pieces and the artistic process will also be published.
  • A showcasing event.
  • A panel of professional judges will select a winner who will be given the opportunity to attend an Art workshop or short course overseas of a maximum amount of €5,400, fully funded by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ. This is calculated on a four week summer course to include course fees, and travel feels: accommodation, food, transport, and flights.
