initiation of project

On the 5th of October welcomed 80 young people at the Agenzija Żgħażagħ youth village for the 2020-21 programme.

12 Youth workers spent weeks preparing to adapt the programme for the new reality we are living in and to improve the experience the young people get from the programme. The youth workers combined the ideas to make the programme safe to operate in light of the Covid-19 pandemic and to give the best learning experience to the young people.

This year the young people are divided into smaller groups and are learning in a hybrid system of face to face and online. The programme is adopting a project-based learning were the young people are learning through hands on projects. To conduct some of the project is also collaborating with other foundations and NGOs to encourage the young people to be active citizens.

  • During the first week young people from the Filming and Photography project are producing a short documentary about a group of young people who are participating in the Middle Sea Race on behalf of the Jarhead Young Sailors Foundation.
  • Young people from the DIY project are building cat houses for the Tomasina Cat Sanctuary and
  • Young people from the art project are painting murals at the sanctuary.
