What is Youth Activism Camp?

Youth Activism Camp is a non-formal education program Youth Activism Camp is a two-day educational program designed to encourage young people aged 13 to 16 to emerge as engaged citizens and leaders in democratic societies. Emphasizing active involvement, leadership, and teamwork, the program fosters hands-on learning experiences and shared responsibilities. 

Who is it For?

Young people who are between 13 to 16 years of age. 

The programme will focus on:
  • Understand and practice rights and responsibilities in group engagement 
  • Applying the concept of democracy in practice
  • Demonstrate effective leadership qualities in group settings
  • Engage actively in discussions and activities within the group
  • Work collaboratively in teams to achieve common goals
  • Demonstrate flexibility in response to changing circumstances
  • Make informed decisions based on analysis and evaluation

What is VRLifeCraft?

VRLifeCraft is a program that lets you experience different situations that you might never encounter in real life. Through exciting VR games and activities, we’ll tackle problem-solving, communication, empathy, and critical thinking. Over the course of four weeks, you’ll engage in VR experiences designed to build these skills while exploring various subjects by stepping into shoes of others. Adding to all this, discussions and real-world activities will further facilitate your learning.

Young people who are between 13 to 16 years of age who participated in the Sound On programme.

What is Sound On Plus+?

Sound On Plus+ is a programme tailored for individuals who have previously completed the foundational Sound On programme. Building upon the skills acquired in Sound On, Sound On Plus+ delves deeper into the realm of audio production, with a specific focus on podcast creation.

Who is it For?

Young people who are between 13 to 16 years of age.

What will it do for me?

I will learn to:

  • Enhance their podcasting skills, including the planning, creation, and editing of engaging content using several tools and equipment. 
  • Cultivate their confidence in public speaking and employing effective techniques to express themselves articulately. 
  • Learn the value of teamwork through collaborative podcast projects. 
  • Improve their digital literacy and technical abilities essential for modern media creation, including proficiency with relevant software and recording devices.

What is Lights On?

Lights On focuses on the art of Shadow Theatre, were young people craft puppets and scenes on current affairs.

Who is it For?

Young people who are between 13 to 16 years of age.

What will it do for me?

I will learn to:

  • Express their thoughts and feelings creatively through shadow theatre performances 
  • Collaborate effectively to plan and execute shadow theatre productions
  • Using shadow and light to enhance storytelling
  • Create visually striking shadow images through precise arrangement and coordination

What is Sound On?

Sound On is a hands-on radio programme designed for young people who want to explore and venture in radio broadcasting.

Who is it For?

Young people who are between 13 to 16 years of age.

What will it do for me?

I will learn to:

  • Enhance their public speaking skills
  • Research and plan topics and music for a radio programme
  • Set-up radio equipment
  • Record and edit the radio programme

What is ZenZone?

ZenZone is a programme where participants will learn to break free from negative thought patterns. Young people will be provided with practical tools and strategies to help them manage anxiety and foster a more positive mindset.

During the sessions, we will explore effective techniques to reduce stress levels, reconnect with our inner self and achieve a state of balance. Through guided activities and discussions, young people will learn how to better understand and support others, foster a sense of community and develop emotional wellbeing.

Ultimately, ZenZone’s goal is to guide young people towards a path of happiness and self-discovery.

The programme is for young people between 12 to 16 years of age. 

What will it do for me?

Young people in this program will:

  • Be introduced to the concept of mindfulness.
  • Identify ways to express thoughts and emotions.
  • Manage unpleasant or stressful moments.
  • Learn how to practise mindfulness.
  • Enhance concentration, planning and decision-making.

What is Democracy Camp II? 

The non-formal education programme Democracy Camp II is a two-day educational programme designed to equip young people aged 13-16 with the knowledge and skills needed to become active citizens in a democratic society. Our sessions aim to promote inclusion, equity, diversity, and human rights through the democratic ideal. This programme will encourage participants to dialogue, exchange ideas and stand up for something that matters to them.

Who is it For?

The programme is for young people between 13 to 16 years of age. 

What will it do for me?

Young people in this program will:

  • Develop knowledge related to democracy and civic engagement.
  • Improve communication, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Gain an appreciation for diversity and the benefits it brings to society.
  • Build confidence to advocate for one’s beliefs and act on issues one cares about.
  • Understand the importance of voting and its role in advocacy and democracy.
  • Become active, responsible citizens who value democracy in daily life.

Act On is a programme which uses drama to engage young people to find joy in self-expression and self-image, gain confidence, reduce stress and acquire team-building skills.

Young people who like drama and are between 12 to 15 years of age.

  • Become more confident;
  • Work in a team;
  • Become aware of my non-verbal gestures and body language;
  • Practice different tonalities and pitches.

What is Find the Superhero in You? 

The Find the Superhero in You program is an exciting non-formal education programme for young people aged 12 to 15. It helps them discover their own powerful values and beliefs to unleash the superhero in them.

The programme is for young people between 12 to 15 years of age.

Young people in this program will:

  • Develop a sense of initiative,
  • Strengthen their leadership skills,
  • Build resilience,
  • Work within a team,

Plan it is a one-week non-formal educational programme with a focus on safeguarding the planet.

Who is it For?

Young people between 13 to 16 years of age.

  • Improve their appreciation for the planet’s natural resources and the need to protect them.

What is Stage On?

Stage On is a program aimed to allow young people to develop a sketch related to realities and issues young people face. Through drama exercises, young people will have the opportunity to express their views.

What is Moneywise?

Youth is a transitional period through which young people negotiate their independence. As part of this negotiation young people start striving for financial freedom. It is a time when pocket money and summer jobs start gaining currency.

Moneywise offers the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes in money matters and acts as a foundation for young people to build strong money habits at an early age and avoid developing habits which could lead to lifelong struggles.
It aims to help young people increase their financial literacy through knowing how to manage their earnings and learning how to save and borrow money responsibly; it also explores the importance of prioritising your savings. The activities in this program also cover the beating of financial setbacks, the understanding of how to plan for a good pension and other issues.

Who is it For?

Young people between 13 to 16 years of age. 

What will it do for me?

I will learn to:

  • choose which products best meet their needs
  • budget effectively, throughout various stages of your life
  • borrow sensibly and manage debts effectively
  • understand debt traps which can help you avoid debt cycles
  • plan to make your goals financially achievable
  • understand and practice the basics of safe use of the Internet

What is Take Action through Photos?

Millions of photos are posted daily on different social media platforms. These photos capture a moment in time and communicate an action or a situation for viewers to react. 

Take Action through Photos aims to engage young people on how to advocate a message on different matters through visual media. 

Who is it For?

Young people who like photography and are between 12 to 15 years of age. 

What will it do for me?

I will learn to:

  • Explore photography as a creative and exciting medium to raise awareness of certain issues 
  • Interpret, identify and use visual techniques to take action
  • Express myself creatively
  • Understand that I can become advocate for a good cause

What is Fine Online?

The Fine Online programme is designed to present information and generate discussion and reflection to enable young people manage their digital health and well being more effectively – the first aid of digital well-being.

Who is it For?

Fine Online is open for young people between 12 to 13 years of age. 

What will it do for me?

I will learn to:

  • Become aware about the importance and scope of digital wellness. 
  • Acquire strategies to enable virtual well-being
  • Be able to self-manage a healthy online/offline balance.

What is Award in Youth Leadership?

Aġenzija Żgħażagħ provides many different opportunities for youth to develop life skills including leadership skills. These include participation in its empowerment programmes, volunteering, planning an event, speaking in front of groups or networking with youth organisations. Providing training for young people who serve in these leadership positions is essential so that young people feel confident in fulfilling the challenges required of them. Once they have achieved a measure of success, young people will continue to strive for more demanding and difficult roles. 

Who is it For?

Award in Youth Leadership is for young people (13+) involved in youth organisations/ groups/secondary or post-secondary schools.

What will it do for me?

I will learn the following:

  • Module 1: Introduction to Leadership
  • Module 2: Communicating Effectively
  • Module 3: Strategic Planning
  • Module 4: Civic Responsibilities and Active Leadership

What is InTune with Myself?

In Tune is a programme that will precisely focus on identifying and expanding young people’s emotional vocabulary and dealing with stressful situations effectively. Furthermore, the programme promotes empathy, an attitude that fosters understanding and cooperation.

Who is it For?

In Tune is a two-tier programme for young people between 12 years to 13 years of age

What will it do for me?

I will learn to: 

  • Expand my emotional vocabulary;
  • Get in touch with my feelings from a personal perspective;
  • Discuss how relationships play an essential role in emotional literacy;
  • Understand the connection between emotional literacy and mental and physical health;
  • Outline several actions on who to deal with emotional challenges;
  • Equip myself with the necessary skills and tips to overcome related challenges.

What is Mindful Mosaic?

Mindful Mosaic is a day-long programme during which the students will embark in a dynamic journey to help them cultivate their mental resilience. The programme includes interactive activities and discussions, led by youth workers, at Villa Psaigon in Dingli 

Who is it For?

The programme is for young people between in Year 9

What will it do for me?

Young people in this program will:

  • Be exploring practical strategies for navigating challenges 
  • Fostering well-being and
  • Unlocking the potential for personal growth and building mental health

What is Catching Fire? 

Catching Fire is a life-skills programme that uses drama as tool to help young people develop a wide range of personal and social skills, including confidence and self-esteem, public speaking, active listening, teamwork, creativity and critical thinking.

Who is it For?

The programme is for young people between 13 to 16 years of age. 

What will it do for me?

Young people in this program will:

  • Enhance their confidence and self-esteem
  • Become more proficient in public speaking
  • Work together as a team in a collaborative and cooperative manner
  • Learn how to communicate ideas, and to respond effectively to the ideas of others
  • Learn how to use ordinary items creatively
  • Use their imagination to create a theatrical performance that they are proud of

What is Youth Workout?

Youth Workout is a programme for young people enrolled in sports organisations that is intended to strengthen and complement their physical training routine. It is aimed at retaining the young people’s participation in sport and their overall wellbeing.

Who is it For?

Young people aged 13 – 19 actively enrolled in a sports organisation.

What will it do for me?

Sports Organisations
Will be able to offer the young people an additional programme that specifically focuses on young people’s social and mental wellbeing, through sustained participation in sport.

Young People
This programme targets Goal Setting, Time Management and Team Dynamics.  Using goal setting young people will measure their personal improvements through identifying, planning and working on their goals.  Time management is key in maintaining a healthy balance between sports, education and/or employment and personal relationships.  Team dynamics will enhance team development and success.
