Supporting young people’s actions of solidarity in the community

The Eurodesk MT platform operated by Agenzija Zghazagh embarked on a process with EUPA – the European Union Programmes Agency, to support young people’s actions of solidarity in the community by informing about funding opportunities offered by the 2021-2027 European Solidarity Corps which has been newly launched by the European Commission in the past weeks.

The process kickstarted with 3 different information meetings held on the 10th and 12th April, each aimed at specifically at reaching out to a different cohort of participants.

The first meeting hosted on the 10th April brought together unorganised young people and representatives from youth organisations.

The second meeting introduced the concept to band clubs and local councils.

The third meeting was held in collaboration with The Scout Association of Malta for representatives from various scout groups.

75 people were hosted in these meetings. Participants in these meetings are being followed up and supported with more information on a group by group basis. This gives young people and entities supporting them the space to be supported with information in an open and flexible way.

Agenzija Zghazagh continues to team up with EUPA to offer support to young people to take a more active role in the local community. A training in project management is being planned for those interested in acquiring more skills to develop and implement initiatives through the European Solidarity Corps during the summer months.

Those who wish to receive more information on this may email writing ‘ESC training’ in subject line.
