Young Parliamentarians


Young Parliamentarians is a programme that gives young people the opportunity of representing their respective schools in a debating competition #ejjewniddibattu.  It is run in 3 phases.  The first 2 phases are training opportunities to equip the young people with the skills to present their ideas and debate them ahead of the #ejjewniddibattu final challenge.  The 3rd and final phase culminates in a debating competition between the participating schools with the winning school receiving the Youth Parliamentarians trophy and a prize of Eur 750 and the runners up Eur 250.

Who is it For?

Senior school students in Years 9, 10, 11 are eligible to participate in this programme after forming a team of 4-6 students.

What will it do for me?

Apart from gaining skills in public speaking, pitching of ideas, lobbying and debating, you will increase your  awareness of responsible citizenship and become inspired to take an active interest in democratic processess.

How can you be part of this programme?

You can ask the school senior management team if you wish to participate in such a programme.
